We are going back to Saint Denis des Murs this year to work on the barn, the house and the garden. The main trip will be Saturday 20th – Saturday 27th April 2019, but we will also have a smaller pre-trip group there from Tuesday 16th – Monday 22nd.
Costs
The trips will cost £300 per person (or £500pp for both weeks). If you want to join us, a £50 deposit* will reserve your place.
To pay , please use the PayPal widget on the homepage, or send us money via PayPal.me/chateauduffy
What’s included
For that, you get full bed & board – ie a warm, dry place to stay, a bed to sleep on, some great company, some amazing food and all the wine you could reasonably drink.
All you have to worry about is getting to Limoges. That’s your only other cost – transport to either Limoges airport or Limoges train station. We’ve got the rest covered…
Who can come?
Anyone. Well, anyone who’s prepared to do a little work! First come, first served. To book your place, use the PayPal buttons on the homepage.
We can accommodate families, and we love friendly visitors. If you’re wondering if this is the right sort of holiday for you, well get in touch and we’ll do our best to answer your questions.
Do children pay full price?
No. We’re not expecting your children to work on site, or drink wine, so we only need to cover their food costs (as long as you don’t mind them sleeping on the floor in your room!). Costs for children are as follows:
- 0-5 years old – free
- 6-10 years – £50
- 11-16 years – £100
- 16-18 years – £150
If you have any further questions about bringing children, please do get in touch.
If I come for less time, can I pay less?
No. Sorry. This is a project based on sweat equity. We take the money you pay and put it towards the future glory that is Chateau Duffy, along with all your hard labour, occasional bruises and contributions to the washing up. And in return, you get the opportunity to stay there in the future.
We use some of the money towards building materials, contributing to the costs of the professionals etc. Without that and your sweat and toil the project couldn’t happen.
You can come for a shorter time, but please pay the full £300/350. Sorry, but we think that’s the fairest way of respecting everybodys efforts.
*I’ve had to drop out. Can I have my deposit back?
No. Deposits are non-refundable, sorry. We ask you to pay a deposit to reserve a place. We often have more people wanting to join us than we can accommodate, and this is the fairest way to ensure that we hold places for people who are seriously intending on coming on the trip.
We use the deposit to pay downpayments on the accommodation and other fixed costs. PayPal also take fees for non-GBP transactions.
If you have paid the full amount and had to drop out, then we will PayPal you your balance, less the deposit.
